We can facilitate high-quality certified translations with a German stamp for U.S. legal cases. Such instances may include dealing with international clients, cross-border disputes or the requirement of German legal documents.
We also offer certified translations in other languages and of course non-certified German translations.
A certified translation by a court-sworn translator in Germany is an official, legally binding translation that bears a stamp confirming the accuracy and completeness of the translated document. This stamp is used by translators sworn in by a German court.
If a German-certified translation is to be used in a legally binding way in the United States, additional authentication may be necessary, such as an apostille or notarization. In some cases, documents from foreign countries may need to be authenticated by the U.S. Department of State. This process verifies that the document is genuine and that any required apostilles or notarizations are properly applied. The Department of State’s authentication may be required for certain legal processes, such as international business dealings or estate matters.
A German certified translation is valid within Germany and the European Union. The certification acts as proof that the translation is a true and faithful representation of the original document, making it accepted in legal, governmental, and judicial contexts.
Certified translations with a German stamp are recognized by German authorities, courts, and government institutions. They are also accepted in many EU countries, particularly in cases where EU citizens need to present documents in other member states. This applies to civil registry offices, immigration authorities, universities, and judicial bodies. The German stamp guarantees recognition across a wide range of official procedures in Germany and, depending on the country, throughout the EU.

In the United States, however, a certified translation by a court-sworn translator from Germany is not automatically recognized as a “certified translation” according to U.S. legal standards. While these translations are of high quality and precision and can be beneficial for certain cases involving international law or German documents, U.S. authorities often require specific certifications or assurances. It is therefore advisable to check which documents will be accepted by a US court with the relevant authority beforehand.
We also offer ATA certified translations (by translators certified by the American Translators Association) – the number of such translators is limited, however, so it is important for us to check that your deadlines are feasible first.
The process begins when you send us the document by mail and inform us of the deadline. We will then return with a quote and confirm whether we can make the deadline. Once you have confirmed our quote, the translation process will begin. Upon completion, we will send you the certified translation (stamped and signed) and, if desired, as a physical copy via mail.
As an agency specialising in certified translations, we can offer an in-depth knowledge of German and EU legal systems and can guarantee the correct terminology and standards. We are aware of the value of urgency when it comes to legal translations; we acknowledge that fast turnaround times and precise translation are non-negotiable when it comes to urgent cases and international court deadlines. We therefore prioritise efficient communication, transparent pricing, and quick processing of these certified translations.
You can rely on the accuracy of our certified translations, as our translators are duly qualified in legal texts and adhere to international translation standards to ensure this. Regardless of the purpose and language, our sworn translators are experts in their field and will provide you with high-quality certified translations of your legal documents.
